Just got Somerset’s 2011-14 financial plan, containing the above section (click to enlarge), via Rob Hopkins. As part of net savings/cuts of almost £6 million to the Environment Directorate in 2011/12, work on climate change, renewable energy and the natural environment “will be stopped completely”.
This marks a big turnaround for the council which became the UK’s first “Transition Authority” in 2008. As Rob points out, a change in administration and/or the wider budget reductions seem to have taken their toll. You can download the full financial plan here.
